What is Concrete Leveling?

Concrete leveling is a procedure that corrects any uneven concrete surface. This is accomplished by altering the foundation that the concrete surface sits upon. This procedure is a lower cost alternative to having to completely replacement the concrete. The procedure is most often found in residential homes, as well as commercial buildings, warehouses, airports and on roads, highways & many other infrastructures.

What would cause concrete settlement?

Concrete slabs can be susceptible to settlement from a wide variety of factors. In the United States, for example, soil can consolidate over time. This soil consolidation can also lead to erosion, which then disrupts the concrete settlement. This erosion is increasingly common within locations that contain poor, improper, or slow drainage. Concrete slabs that are built upon filled-in land can excessively settle over time, as well. This is common for homes with finished, or partial basement levels, since the fill dirt on the outside of the foundation frequently is compacted improperly. In other situations, sidewalk or patio slabs will pitch down. This down pitch will direct water runoff towards the basement level. One of the largest causes is tree roots. Tree roots can cause a slab to be heaved upwards.
